Location: El Segundo, CA (Full-time on site)

What You Get To Do:

Travel to fishing docks across the US (approximately 50% travel) and potentially internationally for long-term assignments
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot our robotic fish processing systems on-site
Work with electro-mechanical assemblies, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
Build and repair harnessing, ensuring robust electrical connections and system functionality
Utilize Command line interface (CLI) and Graphical user interfaces (GUI) tools to interact with robotic systems
Operate power tools and standard industrial manufacturing machinery safely and effectively
Collaborate with the engineering team to improve system designs based on field feedback
All aspects of live fish handling, from the water to a packing facility. Building, operation, and maintenance of live fish storage infrastructure
Opportunity to work closely with users (Fisherman) for extended periods of time, and communicate learnings to engineering teams
Bonus: Enjoy lots of free delicious fish when we have an oversupply from testing
When not traveling, work onsite in El Segundo office with the engineers to build more robots, as well as provide important feedback from field deployments and fishermen

What You Will Need:

A strong excitement about weekly travel to US fishing ports for hands-on engineering
1+ years of experience working with electro-mechanical assemblies; 3+ years desired
High proficiency with power tools and standard industrial manufacturing machinery
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in the field
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
Willingness to travel extensively and adapt to various working environments
(Bonus) Experience with software and comfortable using Linux and command line interface (CLI) tools
(Bonus) Experience with automotive, consumer electronics, or industrial crimp tooling

This is an extremely hands on engineering role where you have the chance to build, test, and repair linear actuators, electric motors, PCBS, harnessing, plumbing, and structural joints.

What You Get To Do:

As the Office Manager at Shinkei Systems HQ, you’ll be the air traffic controller for our fast-growing El Segundo office. You’ll own the day-to-day onsite operations that keep our team running smoothly- from vendor coordination and facilities management to event planning and office upkeep. You’ll serve as the central point of contact, ensuring issues are resolved quickly, the workspace is safe and welcoming, and all team members have the operational support they need to succeed.

Operations & Administration
- Act as the central coordinator for office operations, resolving daily issues and implementing long-term process improvements.
- Manage office systems and accounts (utilities, janitorial, IT/security, deliveries, contractors, building management, and neighbor relations).
- Handle all mail, package scanning, and notifications (including company mailboxes and secure payment depositing).
- Track and report on monthly office expenses (supplies, food, facilities) to optimize budgets.
- Maintain and replenish office supplies, PPE, groceries, and company electronics.
- Support onboarding of new hires with device setup, access points, and account creation.
Facilities & Workplace Experience
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
- Oversee disposal and recycling processes, including organic fish waste, trash, pallets, and bulk pickups.
- Manage kitchen operations, groceries, and consumables to ensure a stocked and functional workspace.
- Plan and execute team lunches, happy hours, quarterly company events, and onsite activities.
Executive & Visitor Support
- Partner with the C-Suite to prepare for investor, media, and recruiting visits.
- Ensure visitors sign NDAs, comply with office policies, and maintain a secure NDA database.
- Act as point of contact for external vendors, contractors, and building management.
- Provide logistical support for cross-departmental rollouts (compliance trainings, handbook updates, holiday schedules).

What You Will Need:

3+ years of experience in office management, operations, or administrative coordination (startup or high-growth environment strongly preferred).
Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
High attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to challenges.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interface across all levels—executives, employees, and external partners.
Proficiency with Google Workspace, Slack, Notion, and basic IT troubleshooting.
Experience coordinating vendors, managing budgets, and supporting company events.

Lead and coach a small People team: Oversee and hire for all aspects of People Operations - recruitment, onboarding and offboarding, HR / employee relations, performance and growth, culture and engagement, and general people strategy
Recruitment and hiring strategy: Partner with leadership to define hiring plans, including the hiring of a dedicated recruiter and closing critical roles
Compensation, payroll, and benefits: Lead employee compensation strategy, including salary benchmarking, benefits program management, equity grants in collaboration with finance and leadership, and running accurate / timely payroll
Headcount planning: Work with leadership on strategic headcount models, budgets, and hiring timelines
Performance management: Develop an effective employee performance review and promotion process; equip managers with tools and coaching for effective feedback
Culture, engagement, and events: Plan program and team events that reinforce our culture and values while being a culture carrier in day-to-day operations
Talent development and retention: Create paths for mobility, training opportunities, and development frameworks that keep top talent engaged
Compliance and HR functions: Implement and manage HR systems, policies, and end-to-end on/offboarding that supports a healthy and compliant workplace

What You Will Need:

6-10 years of People / HR experience, including experience as the first or early People hire at a high-growth startup
Proven ability to design and implement core People programs (recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and promotions)
Experience working closely with leadership on headcount planning and organizational design
Hands-on builder who thrives in ambiguity and attaches data to all decisions
Balanced communicator to assess company and employee perspectives with integrity
